    "I grew up being Deaf. I have overcome lots of obstacles and tried my best to succeed at everything I do in sports and life. I enjoy being part of a team. I do not let my disability affect me in achieving things in sports. I face all challenges with the heart to win."

    What does Special Olympics mean to you?

    "Special Olympics has changed my life. It has given me the opportunity to show my abilities in all sports. It has pushed me to improve and become better at my skills and challenges. I have achieved great success with Special Olympics and hope to continue in years to come."

    What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome?

    "My biggest challenge is deafness. Playing a game makes me aware of where I need to be. I am always alert and making sure my teammates can pass me the ball. I do not let my hearing loss affect my goals or how I play the game."

    "I have also been an athlete on my high school football team for 3 years. I enjoy all sports very much. I enjoy the skills they offer and the endurance behind them."
