Fundraising Events and Promotions

Every year, Special Olympics Louisiana holds several major specialty fundraising events that help support our local Special Olympics programs.  These are great ways to get involved and help raise money, all while having a lot of FUN!

Over the Edge
Whether you are fearless or looking to overcome your fears, NOLA Over the Edge: SWAT Edition is the challenge for you!  This event is the ULTIMATE Adrenaline Rush!  Participants will get the opportunity to RAPPEL 25 stories down NOLA's Benson Tower, RIDE in a helicopter & SWAT train with Louisiana's finest at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Training Facility, while raising much needed funds for Special Olympics Louisiana athletes!  Click here for more info on Over the Edge.

Polar Plunge
The Polar Plunge® is one of Special Olympics Louisiana's largest fundraisers. With the help of our Law Enforcement Torch Run comrades, this event is attracting hundreds of people to an otherwise deserted waterhole in the winter. Sol Bowl
You and your 3 closest buds, co-workers, or family members get the chance to bowl with local celebrities and show them who the true champion really is!

 

Law Enforcement Torch Run
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Louisiana, or LETR, unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Louisiana. Torch Run efforts to raise funds include collecting corporate sponsorships, selling T-shirts, Running, and hosting unique fundraising events.  Each summer, law enforcement officials carry the Flame of Hope across the state culminating with the Torch Run Final Leg, and the lighting of the cauldron to officially open the Special Olympics Louisiana Summer Games in Hammond. This torch relay involves more than 2,500 law enforcement officers and personnel representing more than 200 law enforcement agencies across Louisiana.   Click here to learn more about the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Champions Together Breakfast
Reveal the Champion in yourself and in our Special Olympics Louisiana athletes. This event is Special Olympics' annual campaign. Participants are invited to a breakfast that will raise awareness and engage the community by showcasing some of the unique programs Special Olympics Louisiana has to offer.  Click here for more info on Champions Together Breakfast.
